Why Does the Back End of My Pickup Truck Feel More Bouncy

So I just got my TRD OR on Tuesday and I've noticed that when I hit a bump in the road or a small pot hole the rear end bounces alot. Does this happen to anyone else and is this normal?

A few things

It's the weight of the large grill in the front causing the rear to be light and bounce around.

Its like a bouncy truck bed bounce.
What were you driving before.......and when you tried out the truck, did you like the ride then ?
I noticed the opposite in my OR. I was surprised how little I felt speed bumps etc etc compared to other trucks.

Tire pressures OK? You might try a few more pounds in the rear tires.

That'll soften the ride right up for sure. Maybe try some E rated tires also.

Tire psi is between 38-40psi. Maybe it's just me over analyzing the truck cause its so new.

Try installing a rear spoiler like this one. The downforce will help stabilize your rear end.

too high IMHO..... Try 34-36 in the rear..... In the end, it is a truck...... But the weight is up front, no need for that much psi in the rear unless loaded/towing

Can you define your "bounce"? So for example after you hit a pothole the back end bounces 3 or 4 times until it levels out. I have an OR, I don't have a bounce ... I hit a bump and it compensates immediately ... I am pretty sure the shocks are a little different on the OR from other models ... my suspension is great .... maybe there is a way to test the shocks or a listed guideline of how they should respond.

I just put on new rear shocks and it does it more than before. it could be the fact the shocks are still new or your psi in the tires are a bit high
Look at your door panel.... 29 friggin' lbs man... No wonder you are bouncing... short bed helps that too..!!
My Taco arrived from dealer with 34 lbs. ... I soon dropped them to 29 as per the door panel...!!
Exactly. You need to expect to have to change tire pressure as needed. Otherwise, the rear end can get bouncy and hard.
I have a FG cap which weighs about 200 lbs. It helps Tame ride but pressure is still much lower then 35 psi.....usually 30-32
Empty, 29- 30 sounds good.

Just found this post. I'm having the exact same issue. With my extensive Tacoma experience, I don't think this is a tire pressure thing, nor the typical "empty box light rear-end". If it's the shocks being broken in, I really hope this is the case…would save me a lot of hassle!!
I currently have 1500km on mine (950 miles).

Am I missing something? I've had at least 15 trucks in my lifetime and that is how they all have been. It's a truck, it's going to feel like a truck when you drive it.
